Peter Besenyi doing his thing! Not my usual nature photo but this man can fly as good as any bird I know of. The human peregrine.

Taken in front of Parliament, Budapest, Hungary a few years ago on St. Stephens day. This was a few hours before the worst storm I have ever been in struck. It was a fine day until the evening and then all hell broke loose, it was so severe a few people lost their lives that night, it could have been much worse as there were over 100,000 people watching the Red Bull air race. No photos due to the rain actually hurting as it hit you, everyone ran for the tube stations or any other cover they could find.

Do you have any shrubs that gradually get smaller during the summer? If so, blame  the Tussock Moth caterpillar. Small with a big appetite, took a macro photo of this in my garden, then stupidly put it back on the bush, doh!

The following animals where spotted in this jungle region of Vizag. Hot, humid and amazing scenery.

If you are quiet enough........

This made me laugh, one pushing and three pulling or the other way round? What exactly were they going to do with it???

Some of the views were awesome

Just how many people can cling onto a jeep on a mountain pass, followed by a lunatic bus driver?

August 2009 Delhi, Visakhapatnam & Bangalore

This trip to India was a little more testing this month due to high humidity, monsoons, the planes engine failure (luckily on the runway)....and some bad ass insect bit my wrist!

After a week of hard work I spent Sunday walking through a jungle. It was rough going and my clothes were soaked through after a short while. Either way I cracked on and was rewarded with these butterflies sucking up the minerals.

These ants were covering a centipede that had wrongly wandered accross their path.

This thing was fast, I didn't want to get too close, it was about 6 inches long and didn't hang around long enough for me to get a better angle. Amazing to see though!

Just hangin around "doing things"......

To be continued...

Where have all the birds gone?

I took Khan for a walk by the river Loddon near Twyford on Sunday.
I had the camera with me as usual but didn't see many birds, it seemed a little more quiet than usual.

I spotted the reason for the birds keeping a low key, a Mink was on patrol!

A Mynah bird actually sat still for a few seconds on top of a railway girder in kolkata
An indian Pond Heron, kolkata
A sample of the wildlife I took time out to photograph.....
Chennai

It's fast approaching the time to book another business trip to India. I was last there in November last year and this will be my 4th visit.

Apart from the 9 hour flight getting there its a wonderful place to be.

Nice weather, food and people from all walks of life are friendly and happy.....

A few snaps of daily life in Chennai, Delhi and Calcutta

Showing off his skills, he did it with me in it at first, I said I'd take a photo from the outside thanks!

A dirty weekend

Khan (my 8 year old Hungarian Vizsla) was recently invited to Cornwall
for a weekend of passion with 3 Vizsla bitches.

I think 3 bitches in one go were a bit too much for him, 2 out of 1o for effort!
Maybe next time.....
